Aramcos golfing finest challenge Rolling Hills Golf Course in XCGCs 11th QF

Rolling Hills Golf Club hosted the 11th qualifier of the Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge on Saturday October 8th where a field of 80 determined golfers, made up of Saudi Aramco employees, contractors, and retired employees (who are currently business owners), challenged the 7,303 yard Dhahran-based course.

“The 11th qualifying round was successfully executed and we thank Rolling Hills Club for their support and assistance to the Saudi Xerox Team. Our team was in full zeal, engaging with the players during the event, who found it very encouraging and supportive” said Ihab Wahba, General Manager of Operations from Saudi Xerox.

First place was secured by Jay Ward and Denis Richard who carded 40 points, closely followed by Kurt Janssen and Owen Gaasedelen whose 39 points (countback) was enough to see them take second place, and force Monty Gilleland and Rodney Kraynyk, also finishing with 39 points (countback), to settle for third place.

"Rolling Hills Golf Club is a very popular course among the wider Aramco community, and as such provided the Challenge with the ideal location for the 11th qualifier. We are delighted with the turn-out and are very excited to see quite competitive results. With 40 teams participating, the course and the atmosphere was like one of our major tournaments. On behalf of the Rolling Hills Golf Club Board of Directors, we thank the entire Xerox team for including RHGC in their 2016 schedule and looking forward to doing this again in 2017” Commented Mel Rivera, Tournament Director Rolling Hills.

On course competitions were won by Gus Alifo, Select Property’s 4th hole Nearest the Pin, Steve Farley, Chrysler’s 8th hole Nearest the Pin, Wendell De Landro, deVere Acuma’s 13th hole Nearest the Pin (on second shot) and Rodney Kraynyk, Ajman Tourism’s 14th hole Nearest the Pin.

Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge’s new on-course competition, introduced for the 2016 series, ‘King of Pars’, rewards teams who perform the best on Pars 3, 4, and 5, with prizes sponsored by deVere Acuma. Ahmed Al Daham and Ifeanyi Uche secured the Par 3’s with 15 points, Gil Dolor and Chris Padilla locking in the Par 4’s with 36 points, and the Par 5’s won by Mark Elasmar and Gary Lorentz on 21 points.

Other attendees from Saudi Xerox Management include, Ahmed Kasaby, Zamil A. Kasim , Ayah AL Habeeb, Ali AL Qahtani , Hesham Deeb and Melvielle Dsouza.

The international tournament has seen some of the best players in the GCC and South Africa earn their places in the 2016 grand final, which will be held in December (2016) at the stunning Al Zorah Golf Club in Ajman, UAE.

The Emirate of Ajman in the UAE is the host city and key supporter of Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge 2016, and destination partners include the Ajman Palace, Ajman Kempinski, and Ajman Saray. Venue sponsors for the 2016 Grand Final are Fairmont Ajman hotels and Ajman’s Al Zorah Golf Club. Sponsors of the tournament include deVere Acuma, Chrysler, and Select Property.
